Functional Beauty

At Color & Light Co., we specialize in creating stunning botanical environments that breathe beauty into your life through sustainable design.  We are passionate about backyard and urban farms, interior & exterior communal spaces, using unique and climate-resilient plant selections.

The company’s mission is to prove the communal benefits of keeping our outside beautiful, specifically low-income areas where the ignored landscapes create a bleak environment for those who need to work to survive. The state of our neighborhoods and everyday spots directly affect our drive, empathy, and wellness. Depending on scale and immediate resource availability, botanical installations can be executed at low to 0 cost.  Every practice and consideration toward The Color & Light Co’s  botanical installations are based on 12 permaculture design principles:

  • Interact with the land before acting,
  • create systems that catch and store energy,
  • create systems that can obtain caloric or financial yields,
  • create systems that can be self-regulation & accepting feedback
  • value renewable resources and services
  • produce no waste
  • design from ecological patterns
  • integrate rather than segregate
  • use small and slow solutions
  • use and value variation
  • utilize the space’s margins
  • & creatively use and respond to natural changes.

About Color & Light Co.

Your Partner in Botanical Beauty

The Color & Light Co. mission, based on the idea of empowering people through visual stimulation, uses a variety of plant installations that adhere to a standard of aesthetics and ecological benefit.

Functional beauty is the concept that a tool or system can show clear elements of artistic design, without risking its operational integrity.

The Color & Light Co.’s botanical installations are made to sequester nutrients, strengthen soil structure, increase biodiversity, and potentially mitigate the severity of storm impact.
